“How To” Phantom Wallet

So, you wanna get yourself a Phantom Wallet and get in the ring with The Gimmicks? Well you’ve come to the right place!

You will need to create a password. Make sure that password is stored safely. (Don’t make it 1234 - I’m looking at you, Sex Ferguson.)

The Secret Recovery Phrase is a bunch of words generated by your crypto wallet that give you access to the crypto associated with that wallet. As long as you have your phrase, you’ll have access to all of the crypto associated with the wallet that generated the phrase — even if you delete or lose the wallet. (Seriously, keep that s**t locked down - I don’t care how funny your recovery phrase is, it’s none of my damn business.)

After creating your Phantom Wallet, it’s time to fill it up with some Solana! You’ll have to buy some and transfer it to your wallet in order to cover the small gas fee (like a fraction of a penny) to acquire The Gimmicks NFT (apparently a well-timed fart doesn’t cover a gas fee - my mistake). To buy Solana, you will need to open an account with a crypto exchange platform, like MoonPay.

Although you can buy cryptocurrency through any crypto exchange platform, this guide will show you how to open a MoonPay account.

You can also purchase with MoonPay directly through your Phantom Wallet.

Just access your Phantom Wallet on your web browser extension, click “Deposit”, and then click on the option “Buy with MoonPay”. This will take you to complete the same steps below.

Select “SOL” from the currency options and input the amount you would like to purchase. The platform automatically converts this amount into the correct SOL quantity. (Because let’s face it: I don’t want to do the math and neither do you, so let MoonPay do it for you.)

1.2. Enter your email address

Enter the email address that you would like to be associated with your new MoonPay account (even if it is that cringey Yahoo account you made in middle school). A verification will be sent to the email you’ve entered.

1.3. Enter your wallet address

Your wallet address can be found by accessing your Phantom Wallet on your web browser extension. Phantom gives you the option to copy your wallet address to your clipboard, which you can then paste in the required field of the MoonPay page. (Trust me, you don’t want to type the whole thing out manually.)

1.4. Select Payment Method

After the transaction is processed, your Solana will show up directly on your Phantom Wallet!

Transactions are usually processed between a few minutes and a few hours.

If you’re opening up a new account, after placing an order you will be prompted to enter your information and upload documents to verify your identity. (You know, that way they can make sure you’re not a bot...or a pervert.) MoonPay will then verify your identity and approve your transaction.

Most verifications will be processed automatically, but if you’ve submitted a document or image that doesn’t meet the requirements, MoonPay might have to review it manually and this could cause additional delays. Most verifications are processed between a few minutes and a few days.

MoonPay will notify you by email if there are any additional steps you need to take before your verification can be approved.
